Dawson, Richard

Affectionate and funny, British comedian Richard Dawson is best known for his appearances on Match Game and for hosting Family Feud.  

Trivia:

Born on November 20, 1932 in Gosport, England

First big break in the U.S. was as Corporal Peter Newkirk on Hogan's Heroes in 1965.

In 1971, Dawson joined the cast of the popular comedy/variety show Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In

Dawson also appeared as a celebrity panelists on shows like I've Got a Secret and Match Game 73.

Dawson hosted Family Feud in three different incarnations between 1976 and 1972. 

In 1981, Dawson met 27-year-old Gretchen Johnson when her family appeared as contestants on the show. They had a daughter, Shannon Nichole, in 1990, and were married in 1991. They currently reside in Beverly Hills, California.
