Art Linkletter hosted the TV broadcast of the opening of the Disneyland theme park in 1955, along with Ronald Reagan and Bob Cummings. His 93rd birthday coincides with the Disneyland anniversary celebration, July 17, 2005.

Art LInkletter also hosted the show "Kids Say the Darndest Things." In 2005, he was quoted in the Associated Press as saying, "Fifty years have passed. Just offstage a minute ago, an old, gray-haired man with a cane came up to me and said, 'Do you remember me Art Linkletter?' He said, 'I was on your show when I was 4.'"

They also quoted him as saying, "I'd love to stay longer, but I have a lunch date with Martha Stewart. It's kind of a coming out party."
