Beat the Clock (1950-1961)

Throughout its initial 11-year run, Beat the Clock was alternatively on CBS, ABC, primetime, and daytime. Two teams of two players each competed against each other for the audience to judge by its applause. All four contestants were professional, if unique, entertainers. Two contestants were on the "over-35" team (the "Veterans") and two were on the "under-35" team (the "Youngsters"). Both teams played for charity.
