| Win Ben Stein's Money | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Definition:
Ben Stein battles against contestants in a trivia match for his $5,000 paycheck. The show starts with three contestants answering tough questions in categories with clever and witty names. At the end of round one, one contestant is eliminated. The announcer takes over hosting duties and Ben steps into the contestants' box to compete against the remaining two contestants. In the final round, another contestant is eliminated. The remaining player goes head-to-head against Ben. They take turns answering the same questions in a timed round. If the contestant answers at least as many questions correctly as Ben does, he or she takes home Ben's $5,000. Otherwise, the contestant wins the amount of money earned in the last round of the game. Classical music, intelligent questions and humorous category names make this an entertaining and challenging trivia show. Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" is played in the opening, and Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" closes the show. Premiered: July 28, 1997
